Projects

Greenland Radar

Working with the Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) and Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), a team from the Remote Sensing Center evaluated climate change through imaging ice in Greenland. More information available here. Videos of testing the radar on campus available here.

Antarctica

This was a joint project with the Norwegian Polar Institute (NPI).

UCAR

The University of Alabama joined the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, or UCAR, in late 2017. More information available here.

Assessing Jacksonville Storm Damage

A team from the Remote Sensing Center investigated damage to buildings following a Jacksonville tornado. More information available here and aerial footage available here.

Evaluating Hurricane Irma Damage

In partnership with the Alabama Center for Insurance Information and Research (ACIIR), a team was sent to assess the damage of homes causes by hurricane Irma. More information available here.
